Calamari, Emily Hernandez
Emily Hernandez Calamari (1903-1994) came from a family of Brooklynites who were very active in their local communities. Her grandfather headed the U.S. Army Band at Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn, and her father headed the U.S. Army Band at both Fort Hamilton and Washington, D.C. During World War II, Ms. Calamari was Head of Personnel at the Medical Depot in Brooklyn, which was headed by her future husband, Joseph Augustine (J.A.) Calamari.
