Reformed Church in America. Joint Committee of 24.
In 1961 talks began between the Reformed Church in America and the Presbyterian Church in the United States regarding a possible merger. A resolution was set forth in 1962, and eventually a joint committee of twenty-four people was appointed to facilitate the work necessary to complete the merger - the merger failed to be ratified by the Reformed Church in America in 1969.
