Alonzo John Moley (1903-1995) was a professor at BYU who founded its first speech and hearing clinic.
Alonzo John Morley was born 3 January 1903 in Moroni, Utah. He married Eloise Stewart 2 September 1925, and they had five children. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1925. In 1928 he joined the faculty at BYU where he taught for 54 years. He earned a doctorate in speech pathology from the University of Iowa. He founded the first speech and hearing clinic at BYU and others throughout Utah while being involved in a variety of civic efforts. Alonzo died 28 June 1995.
Eloise Stewart Morley (1904-1986) was a social worker and psychiatric clinician who graduated from BYU.
Eloise Stewart Morley was born 3 January 1904 in Provo, Utah. She married Alonzo Morley 2 September 1925 they had five children. She received a Bachelor’s degree from BYU and a Master’s in Psychiatric Social Work from the University of Utah. She worked as a social worker and psychiatric clinician and was involved in a number of civic and cultural organizations. Eloise died 13 December 1986.
