McClellan graduated from Smith College, 1882. She was the official photographer for Smith College, 1892-1918. She also operated a studio in Northampton, Massachusetts. After 1918 she became involved with land promotion in Sarasota, Florida with her sister, Daisietta Gertrude McClellan. She died Sept. 14, 1934.
