Gilchrist Family.
Residents of Marion County, S.C.; later generations removed to Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana; Archibald E. Gilchrist served as lieutenant in Confederate States Army, 4th S.C. Cavalry, Company F, and was captured ca. 21 Mar. 1864, during a 15 day forlough.
