Jones, Shannon, 1980-
Jones was born in Portland Oregon and moved to Cache County, Utah when she was ten. She attended Brigham Young University, where she majored in English and minored in Music. She focused her folklore project on female missionaries because she felt that they are an overlooked class in the male-centric domain of missionary folklore.
