Cole, Ashley T., 1876-1964,
Ashley T. Cole, donor of the collection, was son of Ashley W. Cole (1841-1920). The senior Cole was a journalist who served as a private secretary to Governor Levi P. Morton from 1895-1897 and then as a member of the New York State Railroad Commission until 1903. The son, Ashley T., was a lawyer active in New York politics. Together they collected the material in this collection.
