Illinois State Horticultural Society
Variant namesIllinois horticulturists, with the backing of the State Agricultural Society, formed a Society, with the first meeting held in Decatur in 1856, for discussing, improving and learning new methods for growing their fruits, flowers, and trees. The first president was E.S. Hull of Alton, Ill.
