Andrew Jackson Boyle was a United States (U.S.) Army officer. He was a United States Military Academy (USMA) cadet; lieutenant, 7th U.S. Cavalry Regiment; captain, 3rd U.S. Cavalry Regiment; captain and major, 1st Airbase Security Training Force; and G-3, Second (2nd) Army and did military intelligence service in Europe during World War II (WWII). He was lieutenant colonel, 3rd U.S. Cavalry Regiment; colonel, commander of a combat command and chief of staff of the 2nd Armored Division; G-3, V (5th) Corps; brigadier general, Military Assistance Advisory Group (MAAG) to Laos; G-3 U.S. Army, Pacific; major general, 25th Infantry Division, Armor Training Center, and Combat Vehicle Development Materiel Section, CONARC (Continental Army Command); lieutenant general, I (1st) Corps and V (5th) Corps; and U.S. representative, Permanent Military Deputies, CENTO (Central Treaty Organization).
