Sis, Peter

Peter Sis was born May 11, 1949, in Brno, Czech Republic. He immigrated to the United States in 1982 and became a citizen in 1989. He became an artist, animator, illustrator, stage designer, and writer. He has received many honors and awards for his work, including Caldecott Honors in 1997--for Starry Messenger: Galileo Galilei--and in 1999--for Tibet.
