Albert Elijah Dunning (1844-1923), son of Elijah Starr and Abigail Emily Beach Dunning, was born in Brookfield, Conn. He graduated from Yale in 1867 and from the Andover Theological Seminary in 1870. From 1870 to 1881, he was pastor of the Highland Congregational Church in Boston. He was secretary of the Congregational Sunday School and Publishing Society from 1881 to 1889 and editor of _The Congregationalist_ from 1889 to 1911. He was a member of the International Sunday School Lesson Committee from 1884 to 1901. He was the author of books relating to Sunday school, Congregationalists, and the Bible.
