Stadt Theater.
Nunnemacher's Grand Opera House was built in 1871, and operated as such until 1892, when it was taken over by Frederick Pabst's German Stadt Theater Company. This company moved from its previous location on Third Street, where it had operated since its founding by Henry Kurz in 1868. Pabst purchased the Stadt in 1890, and operated the old Nunnemacher as the Stadt Theater from 1892-95. The building burned in 1895.
