B. & W. Hudson.

The firm of B. & W. Hudson was owned by brothers Barzillai and William Hudson of Hartford, CT. Barzillai (1794-1871) later became the first president of the Phoenix Life Insurance Company and the director of an asylum for the deaf and dumb. William (1803-1879) began a career as a printer before entering partnership with his brother. Later, he was a member of the Governor's Foot Guard.

B. & W. Hudson offered furniture, mattresses, and other household items for retail sale and wholesale. Occasionally they sold real estate and auctioned goods.
