Marie Agnes Fese was a labor leader and 1976 Democratic candidate for the Illinois 14th congressional district. Fese was a longtime employee of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway and was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Chicago District Council of the Brotherhood of Railway and Airline Clerks (BRAC) in 1968, later serving as Secretary Treasurer and Assistant to the Director of the Research and Education Department. She was active in the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW). In 1976, she won the Democratic nomination for the Illinois 14th congressional district, ultimately losing to Republican incumbent John N. Erlenborn.
