Léon Marie Joseph Ignace Degrelle (b. June 15, 1906, Belgium-d. April 1, 1994, Málaga, Spain) was a Belgian politician and leader of the Fascist Rex Party who later joined the Nazi German Waffen SS, the front line troops on the Eastern Front, World War II, and rose to the rank of unit commander (Standartenführer). After Germany's defeat, he fled and was able to take refuge in Franco's Spain where he succeeded in evading capture for the remainder of his life.
