Markem Machine Company.
Markem Machine Company of Keene, N.H. (now Markem Corporation) was founded in 1911 by F. A. Putnam to develop inks that would adhere effectively to shoe leather. The company expanded to include industrial marking machines used in manufacturing operations, the garment industry and industrial printing.
