Burton, Samuel Smith, 1853-1880.
Samuel S. Burton was valedictorian of the Davidson College class of 1873. While a student, he was a member of the Philanthropic Society. After graduation, he was a teacher in North Carolina and Tennessee and later a minister in Fayetteville, Tennessee.
