Brown, Armstead, b.1875.
Armstead Brown, who was a prominent Alabama lawyer and judge, was born at Talbotton, Ga. in 1875. He studied at LeVert College, Talbotton, and served as stenographer to Gov. John B. Gordon and the law firm of Calhoun, King, and Spalding. He studied law under Chief Justice J. R. Dowdell in LaFayette (Ala.), was admitted to the bar in 1897 and practiced in LaFayette until 1905.
He then moved to Montgomery and became a partner with J. Lee Holloway until 1909, when he was appointed judge of the city court of Montgomery. He was reelected in 1910, but resigned in 1915 and moved to Jacksonville, Fla.
