Red River and Lake of the Woods Railway Company.
The company was organized in 1882 and built a 25-mile rail line from Shirley (Polk County) to St. Hillaire (Pennington County), with construction capital provided by GN's predecessor, the St. Paul, Minneapolis and Manitoba Railway. The latter company purchased the line in 1883 and merged it into its system. The corporation's charter expired by statute in 1932.
