Garmire, Gordon P. (Gordon Paul), 1937-
Gordon P. Garmire came to Penn State in 1980 as a professor of astronomy, heading a team that developed the Chandra X-ray telescope. He was named Evan Pugh Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics in 1985.
