Lawrence Kirk Tolman (b. 1934) is a former Mormon missionary and is currently a professor of mathematics at Brigham Young University. Tolman is the son of Lawrence and Zina Tolman, and served in the Great Lakes Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints between October 1954 and October 1956. He received a BS and MS in mathematics from Brigham Young University, and a Ph. D. in mathematics from the University of New Mexico in 1972.
