Doggett, Joseph

Professor Joseph M. Doggett joined the university's English Department faculty during the fall of 1954 as a Visiting Professor, becoming an Associate Professor in 1955, and a Professor in 1958. Before coming to the University of Houston, Professor Doggett served as an assistant professor at Florida State University. He was affiliated with many organizations including Torch International, the Modern Language Association, and the local chapter of the Civil War Round Table and as an active board member of the American Red Cross of Harris County.

Professor Doggett obtained a B.A., from Wofford College in 1930, an M.A., from Peabody College in 1937, and a Ph.D., from Peabody College in 1950. For further information see the U.H. Faculty Vita Records, 1969-077.
