Timperley family.

William Henry Timperley (1833-1909) was a member of the W.A. Police Force from 1856-1905. After serving in Toodyay, Bunbury, Champion Bay, the Vasse, and Perth, he became Superintendent of the Native Police at Rottnest in 1884. From 1890-1905 he was Resident Magistrate for Wellington, Blackwood and the Sussex District. His grandson, Harold John Timperley (1898-1954) was a journalist who became correspondent in China for the "Manchester guardian" in 1928. He later served with the United Nations in New York and South East Asia, and the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Indonesia.
