Schallert, Paul O., Jr. 1913-2002.
Paul Otto Schallert Jr. was born on April 21, 1913 in Winston-Salem, N.C. and enlisted in the Army on January 21, 1942 at Hartford, Conn. At the time of enlistment he had completed four years of college. Schallert served with the 10th Mountain Division as a part of the 87th Infantry Regiment during the invasion of Kiska Island, Alaska in August 1943 and also during combat operations in Italy. He died on March 16, 2002 in Portland, Or.
