The Arkansas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty seeks to resist efforts to expand the application of the death penalty and to restrict procedural safeguards in criminal cases generally and death penalty cases specifically; to reduce the number of people to which the death penalty can apply, such as juveniles and people with mental retardation; and to limit the application to cases in which racial discrimination is not a factor. The ACADP provides speakers on capital punishment to any group or organization, makes an effort to provide support to prisoners on death row, and serves as a resource to people interested in the abolition of the death penalty.
