Hide Profile

In 1966, the National Communication Television Association and TV & Communications Magazine, jointly founded an informal organization called Pioneers Club. In 1967 organization name changed to CATV Pioneers Club and in 1979 it became The Cable TV Pioneers. Inaugurated to honor people who participated in the establishment of the cable television industry, it also served as a social club for attendees of the National Television Cable Association Annual Convention. As membership increased, the group turned to preserving cable industry history and supported industry-related projects such as a cable TV library, a museum of industry memorabilia, and scholarships.
