Cornell University initiated the Latin American Year (CLAY), 1965-1966, to help develope American awareness of Latin America's strong points and of its problems. Scholars and others from Latin America and the U.S. participated in conferences, lectures, exhibitions, concerts, and other activities, resulting in several publications.
