LaSheck, Katharine, 1891-1971
Variant namesSinger and voice teacher. LaSheck performed on the Chautauqua circuit in the 1910s. From the 1920s to the early 1940s she lived in Buffalo, N.Y., performing in light opera and oratorio groups and as a soloist. In 1943 she returned to her native Iowa City and taught voice at the University of Iowa School of Music from 1944 to 1959.
