Gorman, Geraldine

Geraldine Gorman is currently the Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago. With an MA in English Literature and a PhD in Nursing, both from Loyola University Chicago, she has contributed to numerous publications and has been involved in social services and volunteer work in the Chicago area for many years. Her past professional life includes involvement in the Visiting Nurses Association North. In 2009 she received the Heroes award from the Greater Chicago Red Cross. She has coauthored two publications on the subject of nursing from a social work perspective, and her specific focus is the blend of humanities with the medical profession. She has been invited to participate in the Artist in Residency program at The Ragdale Foundation in Lake Forest, Illinois. As can be seen in this collection, Gormans personal interest in literature and poetry have influenced her professional nursing and educational career.
