Montagu, Charles, Duke of Manchester, 1660?-1722.
Charles Montagu, 1st Duke of Manchester (1660?-1722), an early supporter of William III, served as ambassador extraordinary to Venice in 1697-98 and 1707-08, and to the court of France from 1699 to 1701. A member of the privy council from 1696, he died in 1722.
