University of Virginia. Faculty Senate
The Faculty Senate is an administrative body created in 1926 for the purpose of performing the duties of the General Faculty, with the exception of conferring degrees. Duties include: modification of degree requirements; regulations concerning student clubs, creation of holidays, and conduct of examinations; receipt of recommendations from the Student Honor Committee; legislation affecting athletics as well as all departments of the University' and the presentation of advice to the President on any matter affecting the welfare of the University.
