Alabama Great Southern Railroad Company

The Ala. Great Southern Railroad was the successor to the Ala. and Chattanooga Railroad, the latter road being a consolidation of the North-East and South-West Ala. Railroad and the Wills Valley Railroad. The line ran from Chattanooga, Tenn., to Meridian, Miss.
The Ala. Great Southern was chartered on 18 Jan. 1877, and eventually was controlled by the Southern Railway Co. Most of the directors and officers lived in New York and Ohio.
