Grant, Abigail Cowles, 1820-1881
Variant namesAbigail Fidelia Cowles came from Norfolk, Connecticut and was a non-graduate of Mount Holyoke Female Seminary Class of 1846. She married minister Joel Grant in 1845 and moved to Illinois. Cowles worked in soldiers' homes in Tennessee and Illinois. She died in 1881 in Chicago.
