Howard, August, 1910-1988
Variant namesAugust Howard (b. August Horowitz, Jan. 2, 1910, N.Y.C.; d. Dec. 4. 1988, Queens, New York), publicist and editor, was founder of the American Polar Society in 1934. He was the public affairs officer for the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America from 1928 to 1970.
