Textile machinery manufacturer, Whitinsville, Mass. Founded in 1831 by John C. Whitin. From 1860 to 1863 the firm also operated the Holyoke Machine Shop in Holyoke, Mass. Incorporated in 1870. Merged with White Consolidated Industries in 1966.
