Cassady, J. H. (John Howard), 1896-1969
Variant namesJohn Howard Cassady was born April 3, 1896, in Spencer, Indiana. He was the commanding officer of the U.S.S. Saratoga from 1943 to 1944, and achieved the rank of rear admiral in August 1943. He also served as the commander of Carrier Division Four, Atlantic Fleet, from 1945 to 1946. Cassady retired in May 1956. He died on January 25, 1969.
