Eric Bellmann was born in Rochester, New York and studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology. In 1965, he was the first to graduate with an MFA in Printmaking. Although Bellmann is known primarily for his printmaking, he is also admired for his drawing work and photography. He is a two-time prize winner of the Finger Lakes Annual, one award for drawing and the other for printmaking. Bellmann's work can be seen in over 50 public collections, including Memorial Art Gallery, Charleston Art Gallery, and Allentown Village Art Society. He has been commissioned to do work for the Rochester Philharmonic, RIT, and Xerox, among others. Bellmann was also a tenured professor at RIT, and a faculty member of the Creative Workshop of the Memorial Art Gallery.
