Henry Moscow was born in Hoboken, N.J. on June 10, 1905. He served with the 87th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division during the invasion of Kiska Island, Alaska (1943). Moscow also participated in combat operations in Italy, where he received the Bronze Star Medal. Even though he had dropped out of school in the 10th grade, his writing and journalistic abilities led to a highly successful career in journalism. Following the war, Moscow served as editor of Life International magazine, which had separate issues for Asia, Australia and Europe. Following his retirement in 1970, he wrote and edited several books. Moscow used his editorial experience to become the first editor of the 10th Mountain Division Blizzard newsletter and had also helped develop the 87th's Ruchsack newsletter during the war. He died in Grand View-on-Hudson, N.Y. on January 3, 1983.
