Bertrand, John R. (John Raney), 1914-

Was awarded both his B.S. (1940) and his M.S. (1941) by Texas Technological College. Received his Ph.D. (1950) from Cornell University. Served in the United States Navy from 1942-1945 and was twice awarded the Silver Star. Served on the faculty of Sam Houston State College, Texas A & M University, and the University of Nevada before being appointed President of Berry College, Mount Berry, Georgia, in 1956.
