United Daughters of the Confederacy. Anna Jackson Chapter No. 224 (Tallahassee, Fla.)
The Anna Jackson Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy was organized in Tallahassee in 1898 by Caroline Mays Brevard, who became its first president. It was formed as a benevolent society to commemorate and assist Confederate veterans and their families. Today it supports educational programs on the Civil War; collects historical documents of Confederate veterans; participates in battle reenactments; decorates Confederate soldiers' graves; and provides scholarship money.
