On August 4, 1916, Henry Ford formed a co-partnership with his son Edsel called Henry Ford and Son. Henry Ford and Son was later reorganized to form Henry Ford & Son, Inc. This new company was incorporated on July 27, 1917 to manufacture tractors, agricultural implements and appliances. The first Board of Directors meeting was held on Henry's birthday, July 30, 1917 whereupon he was elected president of the company. In October 1917 production of tractors began in Dearborn, Michigan. In 1919, Henry Ford bought out all other stockholder shares in Ford Motor Company and in 1920 tractor production transferred to Ford Motor Company. Henry Ford & Son, Inc. was formally dissolved. Despite the fact Henry Ford & Son, Inc. had been dissolved in 1920, the Board of Directors continued to meet until 1926.
