William Walker Ayer, Jr., b. 1923, attended McNeese Junior College from 1940-1941 and in 1946 before transferring to LSU. Ayer was a member of the football team and played a part in "Clarence," a comedy performed by the McNeese Junior College Dramatics Department. During World War II, Ayer served as a B-26 Maurauder and an A-26 Invader Medium Bomber pilot in Europe.
