Borders, Melville W., 1925-1997.
Melville Borders was born in Mo. in 1925 and enlisted in the Army at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan. in 1944. He had completed one year of college and was unmarried at the time of his enlistment. Borders joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Swift, Tex. and was assigned to Company A of the 87th Infantry Regiment. He went to Italy as a Private First Class, where he was wounded in action at Le Coste in April, 1945. Borders died in 1997.
