Alfred Clark Chapin served as Williams Trustee, 1917-1935. Bentley Warren, a Boston attorney, served as Williams Trustees, 1902-1947, and was chairman of the Committee on Grounds, Buildings & Improvements. The Executive Committee of the Trustees reviewed faculty and trustee appointments, candidates for tenure, and admission requirements. The Committee on Finance approved college investments, budgets, endowments and gifts. The Committee on Grounds, Buildings and Improvements addressed property purchases, building projects, and improvements to college property. The Committee on Instruction approved department appropriations, faculty appointments and salaries, and the college schedule. The Committee of Ten was established to address social inequity for non-fraternity men.
