Van Valin, William, b. 1878.
Willam Van Valin was an educator and explorer, accompanied Albert Bean on a trip to Alaska and down the Yukon River. He spent four years teaching at Sinuk and Wainwright for the Alaska Division of the U.S. Bureau of Education, and was employed by the University of Pennsylvania Museum to lead the John Wanamaker expedition to Point Barrow.
