Caufield, C. I.
The Kentucky State Penitentiary opened a branch facility at Eddyville, Kentucky in 1888. This branch was opened to ease overcrowding at the state facility in Frankfort. When the Frankfort prison was closed in 1937, Eddyville became the primary penitentiary for the state.
