Pike County Railroad Company
Variant namesGroup of Pike County residents working to get a railroad routed through their county. Alexander Starne elected president of the company and his brother-in-law, Ozias Hatch, elected secretary . Starne was the Secretary of State of Illinois at the time and Hatch followed him in that position. They were not successful in getting the people of Pike County to vote for the railroad and it was not built until after the Civil War.
