Funderburk, Hanly, 1931-
Funderburk was appointed president of Auburn University by Gov. Fob James in 1980. He resigned in 1983 following a tumultuous term in office and a faculty vote of no-confidence. His critics included students and administrators though Funderburk retained support among the alumni.
