Elizabeth Gillet Stimson Corwin was the only daughter of Rodney Metcalf Stimson (b. 1822), editor, state senator, and treasurer of Marietta College (Marietta, Ohio). She married Clifford Corwin, a graduate of Marietta College and principal of a high school in Crookston, Minnnesota.
