The Central Council for Jewish Community Services
The Central Council for Jewish Community Services was established in 1972 to co-ordinate the work of Jewish communal organisations. It grew to encompass sixty member agencies throughout Great Britain. Amongst the services it provided were the Atid leadership courses; the Social Services Ombudsman; and the Arbitration and Mediation Service. It co-ordinated the Jewish Emergency Support Service (JESS) and the National Network of Jewish Housing Associations. The Council closed in 1999.
